Intimating the gentle movement in music and dance, the mixed-use of performance hall and artists residence aim to illustrate a dynamic space to the occupants of the space. Due to its special location in the heart of downtown Toronto, the dramatic gesture of the curved form not only stands out among the other rectilinear structure and also promotes the unique programs with a fluid form.
Paying respect to the existing site, the design leaves a clear visual connection with the neighbouring buildings. Due to the location – the heart of an urban scene, downtown Toronto, the green element is also incorporated in the design. The sense of nature is also reinforced by the use of exterior wood as the cladding on the north and south facade, standing out from the concrete jungle.
